About The Campaign

In Singapore, outdated societal pressures that expect men to be ‘emotionally strong’ have led to men internalising their mental health struggles. As a result, the #1 reason why men won’t seek help for their mental health is that they have learnt to deal with it. To address this, we want to launch a campaign on International Men’s Day on 19 November that:

  • Encourages/reassures men that they do not have to be alone in their mental health struggles, thus normalising seeking help.

  • Spurs reflection amongst Singapore society on their unrealistic/unnecessary/outdated expectations of men to be ‘strong’.

About Calm Collective

Calm Collective is a social enterprise with the mission to normalise mental health conversations in Asia. The organisation was founded in April 2020 as a community response to Singapore's COVID-19 lockdown, to support working professionals through practical mental health strategies.

Today, Calm Collective works with corporate organisations to normalise mental health conversations at work by promoting a culture of psychological safety. Calm Collective provides and co-creates mental health programmes, psychological first aid training, and workplace mental health consultancy. Clients include Spotify, Klook, and The Body Shop.

In serving the broader community, Calm Collective creates mental health content, and curates programmes including regular talks, the Calm Circles peer support programme, and the annual CalmCon mental health & well-being festival.

Calm Collective was selected as the Youth Co:Lab champions for the Youth Action Challenge Season 2 supported by the National Youth Council (Singapore), CVC Capital, Citi Foundation, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
