Frequently Asked Questions

  • Calm Circles is a facilitated peer-to-peer support session facilitated by trained members of the Calm Collective community. Each session will start off with an introduction to the theme, discussion questions, the agreements that participants must follow, followed by two rounds of 25 minute break-out sessions and time for reflection.

  • We encourage you to inform us by sending an email to hello@calmcolletive.asia and sign up for the next available session. If you’ve paid for a session, we’re unable to offer refunds, so please sign up for a complimentary pass for another date.

  • The number of people per breakout group will be determined by the number of participants and facilitators for each session. You will be grouped randomly.

  • We will not be disclosing who signed up beforehand in order to protect the confidentiality and identity of our participants. However, if you’re uncomfortable being open with someone you know or there is a conflict of interest between participants or facilitators, please notify the lead facilitator of the session.

  • Absolutely. While we encourage participants to turn on their camera and join in on the conversation, we understand that it can be tough sometimes. You don’t have to feel pressured to talk or turn on your cameras until you feel ready to do so. Our facilitators are trained to hold space for everyone regardless of their levels of participation.

  • Each Calm Circles session is themed. There will be prompts shared before the start of every discussion and your facilitators will guide you along the way.

  • Our discussion prompts are just guides for discussion, but if there’s something else you wish to address, you can also bring it up during the session.

  • You can leave your breakout session if you’re feeling distressed and go back to the main room where our lead facilitator on duty can hold space until you are ready to join back the discussion or leave the session.

  • To ensure that Calm Circles remains a safe space, we have established a set of agreements that includes holding all stories shared in the circle confidential.

  • As Calm Circles was first conceptualised and formed in the midst of the pandemic, it is primarily a virtual programme. However, we do bring Calm Circles offline from time to time. Stay tuned to our social media channels and newsletter and get the latest updates on our next in-person Calm Circles.

  • Calm Circles is open to everyone ages 18 and up.
